The examination is made up of four genres; speaking, listening, reading and writing.
At bay of plenty english language school we have designed a programme that individually addresses these four areas.    We have well qualified and skilled teaching staff practiced in teaching to the specific skills. 

Students are tested prior to the beginning of the course to determine that they are able to cope with the course content and that the range of ability of the students is not too great to disadvantage the class.

The school works in conjunction with Cambridge University and is a pre-testing centre.  This allows us to offer our students a live examination in the middle of the course.  The examination is conducted at our school, under examination conditions, and sent back to Cambridge University for marking.  This allows our students to experience the exam conditions and to be better prepared for the real examination at the end of the course.

Three weeks prior to the end of the course an IELTS examiner is brought into the school to test the students on the speaking component.

We are also able to offer our students on-line IELTS support at a minimal charge.  This support runs in conjunction with our course and allows the students to go online and get support in the four genres that are taught.

There is a maximum of eight students in a class with an average of six students on any one course.
